The Midan Makeover

If you are friends or followers of Midan on Facebook® or Twitter®, you know that 2011 was a tremendous year of growth for our company!  Over the past 12 months, the Midan team nearly doubled; we added seven smiling faces with extraordinary talent.  Our market research and creative teams grew in both numbers and expertise.  We also changed some seats on our Midan bus to allow internal members who are very good at what they do to become even better developing other skill sets. Yes, 2011 was quite the year!

When we started the Midan journey in 2004, Danette had one part-time person helping her in her “office” above her garage and Michael worked in a little bitty office in his basement.  At the time we both knew a lot of people in the meat industry and focused on projects that fit our areas of expertise. We slowly and methodically hired team members with strong skills in their area of expertise but no real meat industry experience.

In 2006 we became “big kids” and moved into actual office spaces in Chicago and Statesville. We branded ourselves as “Midan Marketing”, (the name is a combination of both of our first names) and developed a logo that reminded people who we were: “M” for Michael and “D” for Danette.



Since then we have developed a talented team that shares our passion for the meat industry and expertise in market research, data analysis, public relations, social media, graphic design, copywriting and account management.

About mid-2011, we actually took a moment to reflect on the past seven years and realized that we were no longer a “start-up” company. Friends and clients that used to call us “Michael and Danette “now refer to us as “Midan”.  We knew we had arrived!

This realization led to a Midan brand makeover that shifted the company focus from the principals to the amazing team that comprises Midan.  As principals, we now guide this fun enterprise (versus applying all of the elbow grease ourselves!) .

Midan Marketing is the one marketing agency focused solely on making a difference in the meat industry.  We know meat and the results we have produced with our clients speak for themselves.

We created a new look that we believe more accurately reflects who we are.
